Rolex explorer watch 36 mm ref 114270/P from 2003 full-set with its box and its papers, a watch for men or women in steel, dial 3-6-9, one of the most emblematic watches of the Rolex brand whose production begins at the end of the year one thousand nine hundred and fifty two with the reference 6150, an elegant all-terrain watch that will take the model designation Precision, its case has a diameter of 36 mm, it is waterproof. The rolex 6150 will be produced in a small number of copies inspired by the rolex 6098. It was in 1953 that the reference 6350 was born, the first to bear the name Rolex Explorer.
This watch, on specific and original order from its future owner, can be packaged for specific resistance to "extreme temperatures". this preparation consists of using special lubricating oils that will allow the movement to operate in complete safety despite a temperature range that can vary between -20°C and +40°C. At that time, it was the only watch marketed on the civilian market, capable of operating at such a temperature range.the year 1955 marked the arrival at Rolex of the caliber 1030 movement, a caliber that would be certified as a chronometer. The Rolex Caliber 1030 will successively equip the models that will become Rolex's most famous watches: it will equip the Precision, Submariner and Explorer models. This automatic movement is differentiated through technical innovations such as better adjustability, greater precision (mainly thanks to its bi-directional rotor) and finally, a more compact height of movement: the case of the explorer goes therefore being able to be more comfortable to wear and take on the appearance of a luxury watch compatible with city life and becoming one of the brand's most popular models.
The reference 114270/P watch presented here is the descendant of the explorer models from the second half of the 20th century. it is equipped with the Rolex caliber 3130, a robust movement with 31 jewels with bi-directional automatic winding, it operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and has a power reserve of forty-eight hours after a complete winding. Watches with classic lines, this watch designed for men is now also worn by women.
